I'm often asked if we food bloggers can cook. Well, food critics have to know a lot about food, cooking & dining, but they don't need to have the same skills that a chef does. However, most food bloggers are very good cooks too. Here is my simple recipe of GARLIC SHRIMP PASTA. Boil pasta in water till tender. I always put some olive oil, salt & fresh herbs in with my pasta when I boil it. Drain & set aside when done. While pasta is boiling, wash shrimps & other seafood you would like to add. Melt butter over medium heat. Add shrimp. Let cook till a little pink & starting to curl. Then add garlic. Cook 5-7 min., add olive oil. Continue to stir till shrimp is pink & curled. Add pasta to skillet. Add seasonings. Add just enough saved pasta water till it is not dry but not swimming in liquid either. Depending on amount of pasta this requires 1/2 the cup or all of it. Start with adding 1/4 of it then work up from there. Combine 2 tablespoons olive oil, 2 teaspoons lemon juice, parsley & red pepper flakes in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Stir shrimp & olive oil mixture into spaghetti until combined. Keep tossing all ingredients around in skillet till all is incorporated & serve hot. Tag your friends who enjoys cooking and let me know what you feel about this post.
