Baskin Robbins was the first 'premium' ice cream I have ever had in my life, about 15 years or so back! It was so nice that every other ice cream tasted yuck and then suddenly BR started dwindling in quality and quantity and number of stores and everything and soon it faded off my mind! BR is back (or has been back for quite sometime now) and how!
Among them, the stand out for me has to be the Bavarian Chocolate - Imagine chocolate ice cream, with nuts, some liquid chocolate inside and some extra nice chocolate and multiply this whole thing by itself - yes, thats how I felt when I deviated from my usual favorite - the Fig n Honey! The fig is just awesome and the flavor rich! My friend tried the bubble gum flavor and it brought back the whole bubble gum that you can swallow feeling! Their mango is very nice too and they all taste even better when had in their chocolate dipped waffle cone!!!! Slurp!!

Those pics looking yummy. I have to visit one of the BR outlet. I used to visit Agarwal hospital where there used to be one outlet just opposite. Next time i would have to visit if i go there next time.
ReplyDeleteAgain here. When i compare BR to Creammy Inn(C-I) an Ice Cream parlor in Anna Nagar C-I is rubbish. CI has over 120 varieties in their menu but their main base is just Vanilla and Chocolate ice cream mixed with other kind of color sauces, nuts, cherry etc. Suppose if i ask kind of banana flavor they just mix the banana flavor sauce to vanilla ice cream .
ReplyDeleteThey don't have ice cream varieties made from base essence like BR. Even Quality Walls family packs are good but never/nothing cant be compared to BR. I had my first BR cup ice cream in my hostel school shop sold for 25 like that long back in 1997.
Any parlour that has just one base is not a great place to eat ice cream! BR is awesome on that front! Great flavors!
