There is no way I go for a lunch meet on Friday courtesy my prayers, but Mr.Ultimate from CFG asked me to come, however late I was to check out Zaica on RK Salai. I have been there earlier and I thought it was decent food, but that day I was surprised more at their play station section with super nice on the floor seats. They do not charge extra for it and all the guests are welcome to entertain themselves when the food is getting ready or if you are taking a break between courses at the buffet. This place has a very good ambiance and it is much bigger than it looks from the outside.
Speaking of the buffet, I enjoyed the veg starters of a buffet after a really long time. The veg shami kebab was very nice, the paneer was super soft and the beet root patty was excellent. The non veg counterparts were not so great, though the chicken was good, but the lamb and the fish were very ordinary. The friends from CFG were done with starters by the time I landed and I had no trouble in joining them for main course as the starters were not holding me back. I tried their naan with all the gravies and I certainly was not impressed, but to be fair, this is not a bad buffet, it's a regular buffet with regular foods and nothing stood out. The dhal makhani and the other stuff were very regular foods. Desserts were equally ordinary. The jamun was not to my liking, the cake was ok and the ice cream was vanilla so........and the buffet is priced at Rs. 475.
I had the whole meal in about 40 minutes and I had to rush back to a patient who was scheduled (and I went on time), but the food was nothing to write home about. The company of those from CFG certainly was worth the rush between prayers and patient though......
