Sambar Idly (v). For those of you who don't know, Idli is a soft steamed rice cake & sambar is the surrounding hot & spicy lentil curry with vegetables. I hope there is no need to rave about the greatness of idly or how fond it is to South-Indians. So the dish I am blogging today from Hoppers is Sambar Idly. Fresh fluffy idly dunked generously in piping hot sambar with a good dose of ghee & topped with podi (mixture of ground dry spices), mint chutney (condiment) & pickle. It is sure to seduce & tickle your taste buds. It is my absolute favorite snack. (You will surely get back for more kyunki d̶i̶l̶ pet hai Hindustani).
